My Reflection

I have been learning to write narrative writing. I found this tricky because  I had to keep editing it  and checking it.  My next step is to add more wow words.

Nrich problem solving - World of Tan

My Reflection

We have been learning to use problem solving skills to solve tangram puzzles.  i found this hard because some of the tangram puzzles was a bit tricky.  I had to use resilence to stick  with this and solve the puzzle.  My next step is to find more geometry puzzles and solve them out.

Holes- making a prediction

My Reflection

I have been learning to to predict what is going to happen in this story called Holes. I found this tricky because I had to predict what was going to happen. I still wonder what will really happen in this story. My next step is to find out more about this book.

My Kelly Tarltons trip!

My Reflection

I have been learning about ocean life and pollution. we went to Kelly Tarltons to discover what kinds of sea creatures there are. I feel amazed that sand tiger shark aren't harmful because of how thin there teeth are. My next step is to find out more about sting rays and sharks.

100 word challenge

My Reflection

I have been learning to write a 100 word challenge. I found this tricky because i would write a bunch of word and check and i'm only half way. I am most proud of my adjectives and  onomatopoeia.

I have been learning to find fractions of a set.

 My next step is to find bigger fractions of numbers and

 I can now put fractions into equal sets

My Reflection

 I am learning to find and summarise information by choosing the most important information in a text. I was able to understand how the information relates to the main topic. I found this tricky because mars is a different planet than ours mars has no water,oxygen and food. My next step is to find out more about other planets and mars.

I have been learning to use my prior knowledge and experience when we relate to a given text/topic.

I found this activity interesting because i got to find out about the Shmak kit, it made me think we should try out the Shmak kit. My nest step is to relate to this prior knowledge back to my understanding of the text and can synthesise my new understanding.

My Reflection

I have been learning to use a  standard unit of measurement to measure things. I found this easy because I know whats a cm and a mm. My next step is to learn more about measurement.

I have been learning to recognise and understand specific language features. We have been learning about  metaphors and similes. I think I have a good understanding of metaphors and similes. Making connections!

My Reflection

I have been learning to relate to the characters in the text to understand their purpose. I chose my my teacher Mrs Melville to compare to Jack Will. Some characteristics they have in common are caring and nice. They are different because they have different personality's. This was an interesting activity to help me understand Jack Wills purpose as a character. My next step is to compare more characters to people I know to give me a deeper understanding of the story.

I have been learning to understand the cause and effects of events in a text. In the novel wonder, there are lots of things that happen which causes effects (the outcome of an event or action by one of the characters) I found this tricky because I had to figure out how to make it make sense. My next step is to understand the purpose of the characters in the story!

I have been learning the features of an explanation writing. The features of an explanation text are complex sentence and titles. 

I found this easy because i make banana milkshakes everyday. My next step is to explanation using the features!
